Anyone been there? I am planning on going the last weekend in July for 3 or 4 nights with a friend.
Just wanted some advise really on what to see and do and what is NOT worth a look too so we dont waste our time.
Thanks LL

The Sex Museum is ok for the price (think it was only about 1) to get in. I expected a bit more from it - though quite what, i don't know! It was fun for a giggle though and I got to sit on a big willy
If you like zoos, then the one they have there is quite nice. beware of the huge pelican that tries to follow you through the doors to the indoor heated bits!
if you get there early, go to Barney's for breakfast (it's not too far from Centraal station). They do really nice breakfasts!!
The market is worth a look though i can't remember what days it is on. That took us a whole afternoon - admittedly, we were dawdling and stopping off for coffees! ;-)
Hope you have fun!
You should sit in a few coffee shops and maybe visit the Stones Cafe, or the basement kiok in the Grasshopper!! Prepared to be aghast at the in-your-faceness of the red light district, but this will soon wear off.
Be warned that drinking is very expensive in A'dam. Have a great time, as above, most of it is good.
The Anne Frankhuis museum is moving and well worth it. Mostly (apart from things listed above) I would heartily recommend the Heineken Experience. It's 10 to get in, you'll get at least 3 hours of entertainment plus 3 gorgeous (proper) Heinekens on the way round.
Don't panic about getting travel cards as Amsterdam is small enough to easily cover on foot.
Definitely go to the Keukenhof but don't go with the tour operators who operate from Amsterdam. Make your own way there (it's easy - just get a train to Leiden then a bus to the Keukenhof. It works out much cheaper that way.)
Buy an amsterdam pass - free travel on public transport. When you've been walking around museums all day you'll appreciate it; also gives free entrance or discount on most major attractions - worth every penny!
I bought a guidebook before our trip, as we were only staying 2 nights, so we could plan our sightseeing more efficiently. With a 48 hour pass this worked really well.
I liked the rijksmusuem, oude kirk, anne frankhaus, Van Gogh musuem and the Amstelkring.
