Truth or Consequeces, New Mexico, named itself after a TV show.

To save artee the trouble (artee, in case you're wondering about the wording of the question: graemer is in australia - probably too modest to claim he lives in a place that's probably got a name like Woy Woy), there's a town in NZ called Nonoti. Sounds like a Maori word, but is the answer given to an early settler who asked 'Do you know the name of this place?'
