Back in 1981 aged 16 when I was a punk with a huge red mohican, Tourists used to take my photo for 1 or 2 if I was going to have to stand with them in a photo. A 4 year old American boy came up to me and told me he wanted to be a punk when he grew up. Does any one know if he did?

Yes, it was me London Dave - and I did - and then I had a sex-change and became a church minister. Strange the way things happen ;)
Kids where I work say to me all the time that they want hair like mine when they get older, and tattoos sometimes too.  Oh how their parents love me. :-)
Was this in Camden?
He became AB Editor, and doesn't pose for photos. His red mohican has turned grey in recent weeks.

tetherend. No it was in the Kings Rd though I am more likely to be found in Camden these days as I haven't changed much.

I'd like to think he did.

When i was about 5/6 (1982/83) my dad took me up to Oxford Street/Regent Street to see the Xmas lights. I remember seeing a queue of people outside a gig/club - goths, punks etc - and thinking they looked so cool and hoping that one day I'd be like that and go to cool places like that. And I did.

I wonder if one of those people in the queue could have been you?  ;-)

You never know. Oxford St/Wardour St etc was always good for that sort of thing, esp the 100 club and The Marquee.
Hank Junior IV did indeed start growing his hair long and fashioned it into a mohican, dying it red in the process.  In fact some said he looked just like you used to.  In the mid-90's he started to mix with the wrong crowd and in a moment of destitution had a spiritual experience and felt 'London Calling'.  Hank had a haircut, changed his name to Shirley and moved to a village in the UK where she became a church minister.  I woud like to think that Shirley is loving happily ever after and singing God Save the Queen every Sunday.
