As someone's started the ball rolling, I had to ask who's from my locality- I'm just north of the North Circular in NW9- any neighbours out there? (Previously from E. Finchley as well).

AbEd will prob move this to chatterbank on Monday.
Try asking there yourself.
I'm not from anywhere near N London though.
David H, I've just posted on HAnn's ? 'Where ?' and asked you if you know Sandhurst Road in Kingsbury as I spent a long lot of time there when I was little.
Nowhere near London today, although a lot nearer than some!
I used to live on the Finchley Road in Temple Fortune which is just up from Golders Green.  Also lived in Hendon.
What a small world, netibiza. My Gran took me to see "Peter Pan" I don't know how many times, ar Goldrs Green.
Hey Artful I was an ice-cream/usherette in the Golders Green Odean.  Were you the little horror that had me chasing up and down the aisles. ( Did  you ever pay for that choc ice???) Mind you was always giving them away to the kiddies.
Oh netibiza, I think you've mixed me up with my cousin - now, she was a real handful. So you were the poor s0d running her feet off - I remember you being so hoarse at times. Me, I was as good as golders! Butter wouldn't melt in my mouth - but the choc ice did!

Allen this Welsh Harp - is it anywhere near Hendon as I remember the Old Welsh Harp pub and a huge lake there.

allen- we don't need a computer to communicate, just open your window and shout!

netibiza, I worked in Finchley Road from 1992-1997 in Preston Sports, which couldn't have been too far from you. Were you still here at the time? I may have even served you? The pub is on the banks of the reservoir at the West Hendon side, and anyone over 40 may remember the Upper Welsh Harp pub just down the road that went when they widened the road in the 60s.

Artful, I think Sandhurst Rd is up near the station/Beverley Drive, other end from me.

Nice to see despite the international nature on the web, there are still a few locals around!

Without allowing everyone on the internet to discover my actual address...

The main masts are in the marina, which would also be south west of me, and I can hear the church bells, which are more or less due south. By a bit of triangulation I'd theorise you're either in or near a white bungalow. Am I close?

That narrowed it down pretty well, sounds Scottish in that case (most of the roads are here as well), where I know someone as well. I'm in a white bungalow myself, by the Welsh Harp, as there are a few hundred here that's certainly not giving away an awful lot. I don't think I'm a weirdo, and I met a whole bunch of people from a similar site last year and we got on like a house on fire (having been conversing for a few years like this already).

I'm parallel to the road you walked past, I can see the football ground from my front window including the corner flag. You are next to 'the bells' according to your Scottish connection.

As well as ads and things, Martin Clunes comes here sometimes, and filmed inside the house opposite for the first series of William and Mary. If I'm up in time (early starts) I always stand outside and watch, he's a big guy as well. I lived here for my first 5 years and often went to the Welsh harp before school with my Dad. 30 years later I was back. Nearly all my visitors say how nice it is here, which is why I came back as well.

Yep, where I thought, I have a friend who lives in a maisonette there, you may even know her. I am on a corner of an 'ock', what a small world this is!

I asked her but she didn't seem to know you- we don't exactly know many of our neighbours in London do we?

I did wonder what was in Elthorne Way before, I knew there were no buildings there- don't know if private or not but at least they look pretty nice for a change.

They really ought to have private messaging here- we're probably boring everyone else to death!
