Being one of the biggest FRIENDS fans on earth (I know every episode of by heart) I was fully prepared to love JOEY but when it viewed I just couldn't get into it as much. Yes it's funny and Joey is still loveably stupid but to me it just doesn't work without the others. What are you views? Can it really replace the FRIENDS in our hearts?

I totally agree with you. Without the others he seems so out of place. I have stopped watching it because to me it came across as he was really stiff in his acting and almost over acting. I loved him in friends because he almost had this innocent stupidity but in Joey's it's so typical slap stick American

I think all the character worked so well together and each complimented the other but now without them he seems sort of lost. Plus I don't like to think of the other wandering around without him. (Sad I know)

In Friends there were 6 individual characters all with their own quirks, Joey focus's soley on one of those charercteristic which doesnt work as well, I believe even if there had been a Ross or a Phoebe spin off it wouldnt have been as good as other personalities are needed for it to work. At the begining of Joey there were just the 3 characters and it was dull, slowly over the course of the series they have introduced more characters to give it more variety, now Gina has a boyfriend and Joey has a stalker-like fan in the complex, and it is getting better. I still watch it (as its on before 2.5 Men) and must say in its defence last Sundays was the best I have seen.

Like happy_face I too have stopped watching it.  I was looking forward to lots of 'Joey' moments, but the only one I saw was when he did his Shakespeare speech and then the curtains opened to the dancing cowboys!
its ok,,,,only because two and half men is on after it!!

i dont mind it, u lot have just been indoctrinated into friends, it isnt that good you know

btw 2 and a half men is awesome!!

SKELLEN your are obviously someone who never watched FRIENDS because if you had then you would have loved it just like the rest of the world did. If it 'wasn't that good' (as you put it) why was it an on going success for 10 years and only ended because the cast had decided they had had enough. Plus the cast were raking in like 1million an episode and it got given its own spin off! 'Not that good'???? You have no idea what you're talking about!
