Why do I not fancy Brad Pitt?

I think that Matt Damon is extremely gorgeous, handsome and attractive.  Objectively, Brad Pitt is very similar in terms of physical appearance and attractiveness.  But I have never fancied Brad Pitt at all, not even slightly.  Why not?

I have never found Brad Pitt attractive. I never even really cared about him until I saw him in FRIENDS, (I am a big FRIENDS fan) and I thought he seemed like a nice fun guy but still no attraction. I prefer Jude Law and Nigel Harman (Yummy). I don't like Brad at all now for what he has put poor Jennifer Aniston through. I don't like Angelina Jolie at all and I don't get the attraction there.. she looks like a man!

Maybe it's because you appraise Brad 'objectively.' I would suggest that opinions of whether fanciable or not are formed before evidence is sought. What I mean is that, finding Matt fanciable, you may search for evidence that he is. Contrarily, you may find yourself searcching for Brad's imperfections.

Your right Andi attraction is a facinating thing. I don't find many of todays young actors that attractive, Which is fine cos it wouldn't do for us all to have the same tastes.

Personally I find older, graggier faces like Tommy Lee Jones an attraction.

But having said that give me Hugh Jackman any day.YES SIREE.

Hmmm... interesting theory :-)  I was thinking about this question yesterday while I was watching "Mr and Mrs Smith".  I was also thinking "If it were Matt Damon instead of Brad Pitt, would his gorgeousness distract me from the plot of the film?".  I was actually looking for positive signs of Brad's attractiveness.  He is (objectively) attractive but he does not "turn me on" (or whatever the phrase is).

That was the only episode of "Friends" that I've ever watched(!).  I watched it specifically to see Brad Pitt in it (I liked the audience's reaction when he appeared) and similarly it was entertaining but not sparkling.

Bernardo, did you know that in that episode of FRIENDS Brad Pitt screwed up his first line because the audience were cheering so loudly and they wouldn't stop. He had to redo it and they cut loads of laughter out of the actual episode??!!
