The 'photograph' thread just got me thinking about a 'date' I had that turned into a bit of a nightmare.
Do you have any date disaster stories?

I remember going on a blind date when I was younger. I'd got chatting to someone over the phone where I worked at the time and got on quite well with him. He would phone up and ask to speak to me. If I wasn't there then he'd phone the next day and would refuse to do business with anyone else. We would chat away about life in general and then one day he said he was coming close to where I lived and did I fancy meeting up for a coffee. I said yes, despite my work colleagues telling me it was a really bad idea.
Anyway, I met up with him and I know personality is what's important but he looked just like the character Andy from little Britain! It soon became apparent that we had absolutely nothing in common but I couldn't get rid of him. He kept on sending flowers to my work and I spent the majority of time avoiding his calls!

The only blind date I went on was in my teens. My friend was going out with a boy and the boy had a friend...you get the picture.
I am 6ft tall and my blind date must have been all of 4'10. I was mortified but as we were seated in a pub it wasn't too bad.
At the end of the night he offered to walk me to the bus stop. As we set off he asked me if I would mind taking my shoes off AND walk in the gutter!

Another memorable date (not a blind one) was with the most gorgeous looking man I have ever seen in my life. We arranged to meet in a bar one lunchtime and I had a lager and he had a coffee.
He then proceeded to lecture me on the sin of drinking alcohol. He showed me a small tattoo on the inside of his wrist WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). He insisted I could be "saved" if I went with him to his church (some obscure religious group who met in someones front room each Sunday).
I went to the loo and did a runner.

Mrs_O....no!...no! ...no!.......the word "casual" does not come into my vocabulary when one is considering "sh@gging"....that would be disrespectful to the woman. Once i am committed, then i give full value........
I would tell you a story, but daren't cus that would bring down the ABer blue rinse brigade.....

LOL......well..........
I had fixed up a "blind date" with a woman who had advertised on illicitencounters...........dinner...etc etc.
We met in the hotel and she was OK, bit overweight, could have done with a different hair style but...OK.....not bad.....well.....not too bad.
During the conversation it transpired she lived in "a certain northern town" and to put her at her ease, i said that i had a mate who went to school in that town and he was now professor of tropical medicine in a certain town. She went rather pale and when i told her his name she replied............"That's my Dad."
That put me in a rather difficult predicament as it was too late to find a replacement, so reluctantly i went ahead with the .......arrangement.
I did feel ashamed........a bit......not too much..........

Just thought of another date that turned into a bit of a mare.
I really really had the hots for this guy (and still do!) and practically stalked him at his place of work. We spent over a year politely smiling at each other and I would sometimes bump into him on a night out. I was head over heels with him and we'd not even had a proper conversation!
It just so happened that a friend of his came to work at my place and set us up on a date. He is absolutely gorgeous and had the personality to match. I was smitten.
Anyway, we continued to meet up for coffees on our lunch breaks and started seeing each other. We would kiss, and then he'd back off and make excuses - leaving me paranoid and totally frustrated. This went on for a while until one day I spoke to the girl who'd set us up. All became clear when I found out he was a born again Christian and didn't believe in sex before marriage!!

I went on a date with a girl and we dated for about 7 weeks.
Then I found out she had previously been in a relationship with my uncle and had dated my brother breifly too. I quizzed her about why she didnt say anything to me (as our surname isnt common, surely she knew or would have mentioned something) she said that she didnt want me to be put off. But, I kind of was. Nice girl, but small world
