Does anyone know of any websites which indicate how high the ground is on a map.

basically, i am trying to book a cottage holiday and i don't want to travel along those windy, steep roads.

Ordnance Survey do good maps.

You should go to the Ordnance Survey website and follow the link to Get-a-map. You can check the terrain using the contour lines to see how hilly that area is.
