My grandson was baptised in May and the godparents weren't bought presents.
I don't think it's convention but whether you want to or not. My son did receive a 'Happy Godfather' card on father's day which I thought was taking things a bit far ..... perhaps I'm just mean!
I send my godmother a mothers day card , easter card, christmas card and birthday card every year, all with the 'Godmother' caption, which she really appreciates and looks forward to.
Never heard of godparent presents at a christening, we sell cards at work to a godson or goddaughter on the occasion of their christening but that's it.
thanks so much for your answers :) if you'd have all said yes, i don't know what present i would have got them anyway.
We have asked for no presents for her, but if people want to they can either put a bit in the collection plate, or send some money to the neonatal unit at the local hospital - she has lots of "things" (and god knows i don't want anything more to dust) but she'll never have her brother and sister
