No gangs of kids, never seen any violence.... the scariest place I lived was either Turnpike Lane or Ladbroke Grove, which as trendy as it supposedly is, is very dodgy at night with lots of gangs of men hanging around.
I have lived in Brixton too and found myself living in a community containing QCs, Solicitiors, Artists, and Actors. Like another poster mentioned earlier, there are a lot of areas like Brixton that are "up and coming" (Hoxton, East London for example) I will admit there were gangs on the streets, so what I did was acknowledge them, a simple nod, and an "alright?" And they were fine.
I them moved to Richmond, which was a lovely place to live, and bring up my daughter.
After moving down to Cornwall at the beginning of the property boom, I have recently moved back to London and realise that I cannot now afford a family house in Richmond.
Therefore I am now in EAST London, in a place called Highams Park, where I have no concerns, there are parks and sports fields, access to good schools, and I get more for my money!!!
Christ with all the places mentioned is there anywhere else left to move to that is safe lol
London is the same as anywhere it has it's bad bits and its good bits but I think everywhere can be unsafe late at night doesnt matter if you live in the centre of Brixton or Buckingham Palace anything can happen anywhere!! Criminals dont think oh well Im in a posh part of London lets not start here!! LOL
But generally some 'rough' areas I'll list below:
Brixton
Peckham
Bermondsey
Lewisham
Deptford
Bow
Tottenham
Ladbroke Grove
