why do some people do such stupid things, i know we aren't all the same, however the level of foolishness makes me wonder if they have any thoughts for their own and others safety.

A chap was cycling with three little children on the bike down a main and very busy road, no one was wearing a bicycle helmet
the eldest child about 10 years of age was on the handlebars, and the two others around six years of age i would guess were sitting on the back, where you would put a pannier, what was he thinking?

the pedestrians who appear to have a death wish, by dodging in and out of traffic, i don't get it, why take such risks

I read your posts about where you live Emmie and I am so grateful for the 'burbs! I am fortunate to not encounter what you do, it would make me bitter too.

that made me feel unwell and shocked just reading what you had written. it must be possible to caution him on some law of not caring, care and attention. just to give him a bit of a fright.

i was out and about and saw him in passing, i wish someone had stopped him, i can't imagine what the man was doing, or thinking, it was near the Euston Road, and if anyone knows that area will know it's a mad house of traffic.
Question Author
he wasn't thinking - some have their heads in the clouds, its one thing to take yourself out the game by a stupid action, quite another to take the children out too.
He was either very stupid or perhaps he had to get somewhere quickly-an emergency?
I always wait for the "green man or the cross signal -can't understand parents who drag their children across before the go signal. I think jaywalkers are fined in Australia.
Question Author
would anyone be mad enough to have three children riding on one bicycle,
an adult with few thoughts of the dangers he put them all in. The one on the handlebars was perched, the little ones precarious on the pannier bit
quinie - just because the green man comes up doesn't mean the cars will stop, I learnt that the hard way..
Question Author
you are more likely hit by a cyclist riding over the lights, the cars are a blight but generally stop, those who zig zag in and out of traffic, pedestrians and cyclists makes me think they don't have a clue about road safety.

I think it would come under 'Construction & Use Regulations' I think they apply to more than just Motors.
Question Author
not so much bitter, i just think that some have no common sense,
not the first time i have seen an adult, and i use that term loosely, take their children out on the bicycle, four of them in this case, if they had been in a carrier, like those you can attach to the bicycle - which are quite clearly seen then perhaps, but not like this, cycling down the Euston Road, which is never quiet, madness.

as to the pedestrians, if they just look what they are doing, dreaming, talking on mobiles, texting all the while crossing roads without looking,
perhaps its getting older that makes me more wary, then again i always remember the green cross code.

hello Baldric, is this for moi?
ummmm, that must have been awful for you, just when you think you're safe to cross.
