Some stunning photos of the great Miss Day, one of my favourite films which she appeared in with Kirk Douglas was 'Young Man with a Horn' (photo 07) which incidentally was changed to 'Young Man of Music' for some strange reason.

The 'horn' or 'trumpet' was actually played by the late great Harry James, Kirk Douglas is fortunately also still with us aged 97.

One of the first films my mum took me to see was Calamity Jane. She has one of the most wonderful smiles..............
Marvellous that she is still here. Kirk Douglas too. Great actor, lovely actress.
A few years back she did a telephone interview with one of the presenters of our local radio station (Radio Tay am) and she seemed really nice and 'normal'.

I can't remember why they did the interview but she wasn't plugging something ~ which is unusual these days.

Kirk Douglas ~ I was convinced that he was dead. In my teens I was in love with Michael Douglas and that was a couple of years ago.

:-)
Absolutely superb singer. My favourite film of hers is Young at Heart with Frank Sinatra. While we're at it Kirk Douglas just oozed with sex appeal when he was younger, what a man (especially in The Vikings even with a dodgy eye)
Thank for for this AOG.

I'm minded to download 'Move Over Darling' on to my phone for my journey home today.
Once I had a secret love......
Que sera sera
I always liked Doris Day, happy birthday Doris.
"It's Magic" - just great!

Lovely lady.
The Deadwood Stage was a song I remember from Calamity Jane. .
A lovely talented lady and so very caring taking on so many vulnerable dogs.
Thank you AOG.

Note to self...if you're going to play a music clip from your laptop at work, remember to put headphones, or at the very least, turn the sound down so that Ms Day can't be heard across a whole open plan office.
I like the song that Doris sings called "Don't Eat the Daises"
Fabulous, watch it all peeps
