I don't think she was innocent Hopkirk, not for one moment. Its inconceivable that this woman, a high-powered manager at a newspaper whose speciality has always been to dig as much dirt as it can in order to make money, can possibly not have known that was going on. The fact that she was having an affair with one of the 6 people found guilty in this trial makes her unawareness and ignorance even more implausible.
But the Jury has spoken, so not-guilty must now be the official line...just don't expect me to believe it.
On another point, I watched Stuart Kuttner, another high-powered manager on the NOTW being interviewed last night on Channel 4 news. An apology had to be dragged out of him by Jon Snow and he made the following, rather supercilious remarks ::
"I think the state, through its legal arms, to the Crown Prosecution Service, the Metropolitan Police Force, chose to take on the press...I am inclined to use the term stitch up, because that's at heart what I believe it was."
So, still in denial then !
