Dirty Rotten Scroundrels

I went on a trip to the Savoy Theatre yesterday to see 'Dirty Rotten Scroundrels' but neither Samantha Bond or Robert Lindsay were performing although the £8.00 programme listed both of them.

I recognised Bonnie Langford. Can anyone please tell me who the other leads were?

can't help, sorry, but are you sure there wasn't a slip of paper in the programme listing the stand-ins, or notices in the theatre? It's most unusual not to tell audiences.

I believe the understudy for Robert is Darren Bennett.

Under 'Information' on the bottom RH of the page it states that Samantha Bond left in September and Robert Lindsay had a day off yesterday. There is a phone number where you can check if the cast members are on holiday. Thank you all. We expected to find a slip of paper in our programme listing cast changes but there wasn't one. The actor playing Robert wasn't Darren Bennett. I have just googled him to check his photograph. It was an older man with grey hair.

I would have expected a discount on the tickets with both stars standing down...say a fiver each instead of eight

could be, ummmm, then a quarter to a third of the seat price....

I don't think it's usual to reduce ticket prices when understudies are used.

The £8.00 was just for the programme and we didn't receive any sort of reduction.
