I know a little girl called Prada Beau (mum is a chav) and a boy called Lupin, which is bad enough but his surname is Budd. I also know a boy who has the same surname as his Christian name. (What was going through his mother's head??????)
I don't know anyone with an unusual first name, but the other day A couple in my local Clinton Cards were shouting at (Assuming it was a little Girl) "Texas. Texas"
One of my daughters is Sawyer

One of my sisters is Quintrell

As to work, in Hong Kong, I had a Rainbow, Scarlet, and Dickens working for me in Hong Kong, never mind two waitresses in the Victoria Hotel where I had an apartment for the first 4 months named Windy and Me. I do not jest....
I have been assured that there is a Mezzanine (female) in our village - this may be apocryphal though.

Actually 'Apocryphal' would be a cracking name :)
I had an Auntie Zillah many many moons ago. She had a sister called Serendipity who was also my aunt. We called her Auntie Serry. They both died when I was very young! but I remember them probably because of the names
There's an awful lot of folk in the hotel and restaurant business - and also, I note, Lloyds Bank with the name 'Trainee'.....
I also know a woman who has twin boys called Merlin and Raven
The comedian Frank Skinner has called his son Buzz, and the bass player of Blur has (I think) five children, all of whom have ridiculous names - one of them is Geronimo. What were they thinking? Do they not realise how difficult it will make things when they get older? Let's not forget Jonathan Ross's children, and those of Jamie Oliver, oh, and Kanye West's daughter is called North! I could go on....
Some parents these days just saddle their kids with made-up names

Before you know it some idiots will call their kid 'Towie'

I blame the Beckhams
It started long before Posh & Becks, joeluke. Look up Frank Zappa's kids if you want off the wall first names.

David Bowie and his Son Zowie.
I was listening to a song request on the radio from someone who had called her daugher Sussudio after the Phil Collins song - poor kid.
I don't mind odd first names, but what gets me is people who don't know how to spell them, and lumber their children (and these are real local examples) with ELLAWEEZ and MAXYMILLION...
My stepfather was called Milner. This goes back to the once common practice of using family surnames as forenames.
Me. I sort of like my name but given a choice a I would have opted for something more mainstream.
My own name is unusual and it's a blessing and a curse.
My eldest daughter is called Alyssa, her middle name is Caprice (nothing to do with the model who was unknown at the time).

Shiraz is a lovely name - you would have been wasted as a Chardonnay ...
Had a neighbour many years ago called Scheherazade, she went by 'Sherry'.
Blue and Sky (sisters) and Pebbles - there must be more but I've got a memory like a sieve.
