The ban is not really intended as a punishment, it is a preventative measure.

Gromit....thanks, i must say that i doubt whether that ruling would have any effect at all on driving racism out of sport.............but you never know.

Judge? Court? This all happened in France. The ban is a decision based by Chelsea football club rather than the result of a legal proceeding.

I'm confused by the article, in what court were these charges read? Wouldn't this be outside of the British legal systems jurisdiction?

The present Mrs Hughes plans her work schedule around home games for her beloved Stoke City, and curses Sky loud and long if they are moved to Monday nights.

Today, she is due to meet her Ofsted team leader at Birmingham Football Club for a meeting, and I said, never mind, it could have been Arsenal, to which she replied "I wouldn't be going then ...".

I was being light-hearted - she wasn't!!
