I enjoy Christmas except for the rituals that need to be adhered to and cannot be changed!
Such as
The food you cannot touch on the 24th but will be going in the bin on the 28th.
You tell your wife to say to her parents not to buy me a gift which they ignore and buy me a picture I hate or ornament that goes to charity.
I don't really like presents but we have to take north to open on Christmas day to then bring south again.
Bah humbug.....!
So we phone to say we would be arriving at midday today to be told there's nothing to eat! So we ate at Morrisons to come home to find the fridge groaning!!
trt, can't speak for Gav, but I'm not miserable about Xmas, just all the hype that goes with it, I'm rarely found without a smile, especially with offers like the one @ 17:45, thanks girls, xx
Trouble is some families seem to put the pressure on ,rather than just relaxing into it and keeping it simple. Folk then get fraught and can't wait for it to end.
We take it steady and all doors are open if you want to visit no pressure and choices are respected.
We always manage at least one day all together in the same place and have a great time.
