Stone Island Clothes
Can any one tell me if their is some sort of Stigma attached to this designer brand clothing? I have not come across the brand in the limited High street shops I visit. I looked on E-Bay and note the logo badge can be bought seperately but do not see the clothes for sale. Is there a problem with the manufacturing conditions i.e. exploited sweatshop labour or what ?
I only discovered this brand this weekend and it appears to be controversial so I wondered why ?

There is a fascination among football hooligans with designer labels such as Lacoste, Burberry, Aquascutum and in particular with Italian label Stone Island.

Thank you for the site. This is what they told me. Nothing startling I would of thought.

Stone Island has achieved the E-label. This is our lowest possible sustainability score, and Stone Island has earned it by communicating nothing concrete about the policies for environment, carbon emissions or labor conditions in low-wages countries. For us as consumers, it is unclear whether Stone Island is committed to sustainability or not.

Because the company has not committed them selves to making a concrete statement they are an E grade. Bit unfair ? Seems like a presumption of guilt.
Thanks again for your help.

Stone Island is an expensive Italian trendy Menswear company - its been around for at least 25 years. Other than in their shops you can only get their clothes in small shops that sell designer brands or Selfridges (for instance). The logo's you can buy online are probably fake, as their clothes are very simple and the only thing that sets them apart is the logo which is attached by 2 buttons. Also their clothes keep their value as collectors items ( a bit like chanel handbags)
