The terrible events of Paris are being remembered by the band playing back in Paris .Great of them to show solidarity with Paris . I was thinking that the name of the band could have been changed as a jesture in the aftermath of this terrible event .Many bands have name which do not allude the peaceful world we and they all want .Maybe I'm wrong but it's an opinion

But then we each have our own style, some more abrasive and confrontational than others.
I have to agree with ummmm here - death metal is an entire genre of music - like rock and roll, ska, dubstep, and so on.

I don't think that the band changing their name would make any difference - how would people know it was them and attend?

weecalf-so sorry I seem to have offended on your thread. It was a misunderstanding - I thought this may grow into a lighthearted thread on alternative names for heavy metal and had hoped it would be taken that way and not as aggressive and abrasive. As AB seems to be very sparse on posts at the moment, other than on Muslims,Immigration and the EU I thought it may attract some funny replies. I would not have commented had it been posted in the News section.
As others have said, it is a type of music so perhaps wouldn't make sense for them to change their name (and could be confusing if people don't know it's the same band). Apparently they did have an 89 second silence during the gig to remember the victims of the attack.

'Indifference against the machine' did make me chuckle though!

No problem Retrochic I am not offended in the least ,it was just a thought that the name of the band playing that terrible night was Death related .I don't know enough about music to know if it a. Kind of music .of course many my self included have made light of someone else serious post .Thats part off and may it last of Answer bank .
well as everyon knows I will follow the crowd
so taking up retrochic's suggestion

why hasnt any band performed under the label " Grateful Dead " ?

I hasten to add that I have only heard of them because they were fiven their first break at the Rose and Crown Sheffield st Manchester
or the flying pickets ( people remember were throwing themselves from the windows ) change temporarily to Flying Bullets ?

anyway changing the name to spare blushes is a bit mimsy isnt it ?

When Led Zeppelin first appeared on the scene, many thought that they would go over like a concrete balloon...Not a lot of people know that
Islay, will you please stop being offended on other peoples behalf!
I didn't see anything offensive in Retrochic's post.
Some will see the post by Retro as not their kind of banter ...

Chuffed Berry

Bon Jovial
They don't actually play death metal anyway
Nice inch nails

Johnny Marrvellous

Rick Ask me nicely
spinal tap changed to Final Nap ?
