A person I know has ask me to cut 3" from the top of a 14ft Hedge, no problem with that, there has been issues ( not nasty) with My Daughters, regards this 80year lady, i have sorted the offending branch out, to the rear of this Lady's house, this 14ft hedge has caused issues with her another Neighbour's, also her neighbour that lives to her right, the tree is approx 40ft in height ( Above the height of her semi home, she is not in the best of health & I would not like to see her getting stressed, how would you suggest dealing with trimming these Hedges / Trees? I know that Council involvement can help but I don't want to go down that road, she own's her own home by the way. tia
I don't know the situation but I would not want a 14ft hedge around my garden, it would block out the light and look out of place.
Make sure the tree does not overhang the old lady,s garden.
Check the tree does not have a preservation order first before touching it.
If it does the you need council consent to trim it.
We have a large silver birch in our front garden and that has an order against it.
All a pain in the rear , but you have to comply or the penalty is high.
pmsl ... well if 3" is correct I would record the noise of a hedge cutter on to my ipod, take a portable speaker and a deckchair then after 4 hours tell her it is done and dusted.
Just read the replies, Anne, I would not, Never have taken any person for a ride, if that's what she want's that exactly what I will do, I am stating her request 3", I do understand the Exact measurement but that's what she requested, obviously it will be above 3", she has enough Stress and health issues, I would not like to cause her any more, thanks anyway for your replies.
