The family should never have been allocated this flat in 2014 and it has deprived a genuine homeless family a home for 2 years.
Good to see the Council Director of Housing and the Council Leader have resigned over these errors. Sounds like it has cost a lot in legal fees and administration, so nice to see the people who made this costly error, doing the honourable thing, and falling on their sword.

I agree for once with Gromit.
But one has to ask why they were given a council house for such a long period in the first instance?
If they have now to seek private accommodation, why wasn't they left with that choice when they lost their previous home?
They could have been put up temporary in a hostel for a short time until they acquired private rented accommodation.

The Council seem to be indicating the accommodation was temporary in the first place...
