Are Dr Crowley In Paranoid And The Ghost Detective The Same Person

Does Michael Maloney play both Dr Crowley and the Ghost Detective who has a wheelchair bound wife . They look like the same person but we have never seen them together. Neither the Ghost Detective nor Dr Fairweather appear in the cast list. Is it just me who is confused by this programme
