No. Didn't know anything about it, but we might try it now. We live about 20 miles away, so not too far for a run out. I'll take my chances with parking, but it's usually a bit awkward, so, hey ho!
The Christmas market last year was a bit rubbish and very crowded.

It was packed Zacs.
I only go to Skipton for the Jenson Samuel shirt shop.
I've only been to Skipton once and that was when camping at Appletreewick in the 70s. I recall it as a small sleepy town where i bought some lemon curd.
Skipton is a bit out of my way and I didn't make to my usual Christmas market.

I still smile at the memory of it being cancelled a few years ago due to......snow, all 2cm of it!
I didn't go but I did speak to the wife and parked the car today.

It can be a bad area for that E.C. got stuck on the A59 for 2 days Nr Blubberhouses many years ago.
Got snowed in near Skipton quite some tears ago on holiday - a darned sight more than 2cm though.
You've misunderstood TWR, I was referring to the cancellation of a Christmas market in the soft south!
Must have been very deep snow to make you cry, quite some TEARS ago on holiday.

I've been caught out in a few area's Eccles, the worst was in a place called Loddon Nr Beccles Norfolk, there for a week.
ooops - years .
Skipton, home of the second best pork pies I've ever had, the place down from the church on the opposite side, Stainforths. So disappointed when Whitakers chocolate shop closed. World of Wood is the place to get the authentic German Christmas pieces, very expensive but well worth it.
I go to Skipton whenever I am up North. 'Bizzie Lizzies' fish and chips and 'Yorkshire Crunch' biscuits from a stall on the high street, get my hair cut for £3.99.
Last of the big spenders me...
When I lived in the W. Riding (until nearly 50) I loved going to Skipton and always went there for Xmas shopping. Not sure about the new market you describe, I liked it as it was. 'Bizzie Lizzies' is wonderful for fish and chips.

You can (could?) park in Morrison's for a couple of hours and redeem your parking charge by buying a newspaper etc. in the store. Happy days....

Great shopping in E.Riding nowadays. :)
Have they changed the names back to Ridings? I remember when the East Riding suddenly became North Yorkshire.
The Ridings of Yorkshire were possibly not understood by those in the south
More fool them
