Anybody from Warwickshire?

Hi. I was just wondering if anybody can tell me what dates the Mop fair will be/was in Stratford-Upon-Avon this year? I've found the dates for Warwick but all I can find about Stratford is that it usually starts on the 12 October.

Hey! I know what a mop fair is !

rural fair for hiring servants. The habit of carrying around an implement to show their skill for hire led the fair being called a mop fair because domestic servants carried mops.

It's on now. It started on Wednesday 11th and runs (I think) to Friday 21st.

Look for the link which shows:
Stratford Herald - Thu 6th October (It's probably the 3rd one down) but don't select the main link. Click on 'cached' instead.
