I haven't even heard a firework yet.
nope, i think they should be banned - because of all animals, wildlife, environmental reasons etc.

Awww did the loud bang make you jump, causing your cheese to fa.....?
wasn't the loud bang that did that....
What!!! They're letting them off during the day around here. Last week, half term was hell. Where these cheeky blighters get the money from I don't know.
Surprisingly I've only heard the one or two.
Quite a few houses round where I live are letting them off, some quite late at night. Pet owners are keeping their pets indoors.
Had to give the dog a Melatonin last night as he starts shaking and hiding the minute he hears one. They don't need an excuse around here to let fireworks off, there is usually an event on somewhere that has to finish with ultra loud bangers late at night.
fireworks have been going off for several weeks now..why do folks like doing it at 1am though ? GGGRRRR..
Plenty going off locally for a while now, last night was particularly lively.
fireworks should only be available for public organised events IMO
On the night itself there are a couple of organised ones I can watch happily from my balcony wrapped up with a glass of red.

As I ooh and ah at the huge colourful displays and see the reflections on the water, the ducks happily float along unperturbed.
There's some strange tunnelling sounds coming from my next door neighbour , Guy's house
Plenty here also. I barely get out with Sally...then BOOM!!!...and she wants to shoot home. On top of that, she won't eat. :-(
Not so many here so far and touching wood. I would still like to see restrictions in when they are allowed and what kind. While I would LOVE a complete ban I don't support or campaign for it because I don't think its achievable and the concept puts people off supporting the campaign. Its not so much "my dog hates them" as he is TERRIFIED by them. the biggest petition is running again this year and has solid support again. Its currently the most popular petition on the .gov website. Please sign and share if you support it.

Does anyone know if G Forks carried a knife ?
...cont. Interestingly the New Forest National Park Authority have also quasi commented this year, this from their website. Its unusual because these 'linked to the government" organisations so rarely indicate disagreement with the party line that fireworks don't cause problems.

I don't think a ban will happen either. Quiet fireworks are available though and if all of those sold to the public were that way it would be a start.
yes it would Robinia
New Zealand has it right, they are only for sale for three days from 2 to 5 November, the ones for sale are only at a certain decibel level and you have to be 18 (and prove it) to buy them. Wish it was as strict here.
