I will admit to knowing very little about the seafaring life....there is not drop of Nelsons blood in me.
But does anybody know why they didn't just sail this huge yacht round, rather than go to the expense of taking it by land ?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You can't sail a yacht anywhere until you can safely get it into the water. The only hoist in the country big enough to get that boat in the water is at Fox's Marina in Ipswich (just down the road from me):

So it's not unusual to see large boats being transported along the A14 towards Ipswich. However when they get to the stretch of that road near to where I live, there are some low bridges. So the boats have to be taken off the A14 and through our High Street, which cause absolute chaos!
