I've read on the internet cabbage leaves & cigarette ash, (but I can't bear the thought of touching old fag ash)...I've tried warm water & soap, wasn't very impressive. Does anybody else know of a cleaning cloth or other product for polishing pweter? (some of the jewellery pieces are quite delicate)

Thanks guys!

I was given a Jewelry Cleaning kit which includes a container of metal polish which in turn claims to be able to clean Pewter. If it is as efficient as the jewelry cleaning mixture it will be good.It seems from the label that it is made in the USA but it actually purchased from Brooks& Bentley who are always advertising in newspaper supplements or you could get their address off their website. Hope it works if you get some.
try brasso. basically your looking to dissolve the very top layer of the metal which has tarnished due to exposure to air. or you could dip it in acid...
or even coke. remember in school when you left a penny in a glass of coke for a week? went all shiny. same thing.
