Regarding all the deleted posts and comments on other threads, I'm not sure why it matters whether someone is or isn't a previous user so long as that user wasn't banned. If anyone it's the banned ones that have returned under new names we should be alerting the Ed about.

Maybe they forgot their password? maye they felt they had given away too much info? Maybe they just want afresh start? maybe they have passed away and a partner has joined? All sorts of reasons. Don't see what's fishy? Anyway, in this case the OP has said it's not who people think- so that should be the end of it.
