would Tommy's supporters still be behind him if today's 16 newly sentenced jailbirds had instead walked?

The jury had done their bit and the scumbags were returning for sentencing...the judge dishes out the sentence not the jury.
If these scumbags could have walked then our judicial system is total *** and would need to be looked at.
Yes, lets focus on Tommy...that's what important after all.

Funnily enough after Tommy was banged up for dragging the trial into the public consciousness, reporting restrictions were lifted after "media" pressure and open debate was engaged. Perhaps the sentences would have laughingly minimal and secret too boot without us all being aware of what was being done, and hidden from scrutiny.
I thought Tommy and his little frenz had screwed up another case - but he seems to have learnt from experience

Filming outside a court whilst a case is being heard strikes me as pretty dim.
mistrial - dismissal and retrial is the probable course
the judge is very unlikely to have entered formal not-guilty charges
The judge now has a power to discharge the jury and go on with the case and decide guilt for himself. First used in Manchester a few months ago. I am not sure what the loyal democratic Tommy fans would have made of that !
