Arthur Worsley died last year at the age if 80. He was a major TV star from the 1950's through to the 1970's with his dummy Charlie Brown. Worlsey was best known for his unmoving lips, and his mute appearences - all the talking being done by Charlie Brown. In a style that was an echo of the eerie Hugo Fitch in the 1940's film 'Dead Of Night', Charlie Brown was quite an agressive figure, constantly berating the long-suffering Worsley, with instructions to 'Look at me when I'm talking to you!' and 'Turn me round son!' as well as clever tricks like taunting Worsley to say "Bottle of beer" with the dummy's voice reaching a screeching cresendo as he repeated the phrase ever faster, while Worsley remained deadpan, lips as always, never moving. As well as a successful TV career, Arthur Worsley appeared regularly on stage, often at the London Palladium. He is survived by his widow Audrey, and his son.
