The Daily Mail printed a feature in 1999 written by an Egyptologist. In it, he stated that he, along with other eminent Egyptologists, had been invited to attend a ceremony at the Great Pyramid of Giza on Millennium Eve, at which a golden cap would be lowered on to said pyramid. Obviously, it never happened (Jean Michel Jarre doing his thang in front of fireworks IIRC), but who was this guy and why was he so wrong?
