I Am A Cruise Speaker!
38 Answers
At last, after having my first Cruise Speaker engagement snatched away from in April 2020 - a cruise to Portugal and back, I am finally invited to sail and speak.
Of course, cruise liners are just getting back to normal again, so they are doing trips around the UK - mine is a six-day trip to Liverpool and back to SDouthampton.
I have to deliver six (!!!!) forty minute Talks, so I have four months to research, write and rehearse them - it's a tall order, but I will make it.
I just heard today, so I wanted to share it with my AB friends.
I am SO excited!!!!!!

Togo - I do get to talk about myself actually!!
Five of my talks are music-related - The Beatles and Merseybeat are two of them - but one is about my music jouralism career and the people I have met, and the fun I have had.
When I auditioned initially, I did a talk about Elvis, I was invited back and did a talk about Motown, and in the feedback, I was asked if I had any anecdotes about my carrer. The answer is - yes, dozens, they asked for one there and then, I told them one, and they appeared interested enough to ask for a specific Talk involving similar stories.
I am really excited, but it will mean some serious work with researching and writing.
The hardest part is actually timing them - they have to be forty minutes, not a minute longer, because other events are scheduled and people can and do walk out if someone over-runs, I've seen it happen.
So, I will ge started in the morning, and crack on.
Again, thanks for your support all - it means a lot.
