Is there a way to convert the values in the old unit of jewellery valuation 'sovereign' to say carats etc?

I think that may have got mixed up with this questions. Sovereigns were a unit on currency .. �1.1s.0d and Carat is used to show the weight of a precious stone. So its not possible to convert one to the other.

My brain wasn't it gear last night so I have a correction: a sovereign was not worth �1.1s (that was Guinea). A sovereign was a gold coin that was originally worth �1.00.
