I Want To 'Freeze' The Keyboard Of A Dell Precision M6800

On an old computer there was a way to lock the keyboard & touchpad temporarily - just with a couple of keypresses - presumably to stop kids & cats hitting keys when youre not looking
I dont want it to close or lock the screen though.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Ive tried googling but all it seems to bring up are answers to people having problems with the keyboard freezing when they dont want to.

Most require a password to work, which is fine if you want to protect your work from tech-savvy co-workers but a bit of a bind if you you only want to stop kids and cats pressing a few keys.
BlueLife KeyFreeze, however, only requires you to hit Ctrl, Alt and F together to toggle the lock on or off, so that would be my own choice in your situation:
