we are going to a party night tonight for our christmas do, we found out a newspaper is also one of the other parties and due to a high profile local case going on at the moment if its the local paper some of our management cant go as they will be harrassed all night. i called the hotel just to ask if they could say yes it was that paper or no it wasnt that one and they wont say either way due to the data protection act. when we turn up tonight it will be on the seating plan anyway so all we needed was a yes or no and we would know whether or not certain people could explain. i did explain the circumstances but they were having none of it. now some people cant go just in case and we have also had to change the name of our party on the board so it doesnt make it obvious where we are from.

is it me or is this a bit stupid??

we'd lose our money so they wouldnt care... it was �60 each so they'd be laughing as there is 30 of us

I wouldn't worry - it's probably the advertising department bash! doesn't necessarily mean journalists will be there!!
