I'd certainly agree with IAP, however, gold is also considered a very lucky color. Paradoxically, red, although considerd lucky, should never be used to write or print personal names. Business cards are good example. Business cards in Asia have a mystique and culture surrounding their use that is foreign (pun only slightly intended) to much of the western world. It would constitute a faux pas of the highest degree to present a business card to someone with your name printed in any shade of red, much less to address a letter using red ink...
Thank you for your replies.
Going to a Christmas do tomorrow held by a Chinese family. . I am taking a present and was not sure what colour paper to wrap it in.. Thank you In A Pickle, I will certainly not use white and take your advice and go for red.
And thank you Clanad I certainly will not use red when writing the lable. Any suggestions?
Cheers.
