I’m going to a black tie event in a few weeks time and I’m not sure what to wear dress wise. Do you think this would be appropriate or too casual. I’m trying to kill two birds with one stone as I’ve got another event a few weeks after.
Thanks both. The other event is a Year 13 prom, so a bit more casual than a black tie.
Red, that dress is lovely, but I’d need heels to get away with it and I can’t wear them anymore. That and the need for easy access for the ladies.
The code calls for women to wear a floor-length gown or dress. Cocktail dresses are an acceptable option for black tie. Long dresses, however, tend to be more elegant. This dress code is best if it has a sophisticated silhouette that is feminine and elegant, such as black
If that’s the sort of style you feel comfortable with look for something in dark plain material. You can dress it up with nice jewellery. That’ll look more ‘eveningy’ abd will suit the prom too. Patterns aren’t good for black tie events - at least not in my opinion.
I don’t know the company at all. The dress is lovely, but a bit bridesmaidy. I usually only buy online from companies that I know, and do free returns.
