We have a farm very near us ( top of my street in fact) the farmer 'allegedly' wants more money off Telefonica that have a mast on his land, he's padlocked the gate stopping 02 who carry out mast maintenance from going in to fix the problem that's occurred during strong winds
so he is holding the full postal area and beyond to ransom, mobile phones are cutting out and the internet is hit and miss for those who are working from home mostly, I am in contact with our MP and to date she is being very helpful, why are some people so damn selfish!

Unfortunately, my personal experience is that not all companies are very good at paying the wayleave - and yet the workers still trample all over the land using it as their own. I would also be very surprised if there was not some sort of provision to allow forced access in an emergency.
It's entirely possible he IS being selfish. It is also quite possible that the communication company is not necessarily playing fair. There are generally two sides to every argument.

1. Allegedly - who alleges?
2. What is the farmer's grievance. Is he having to clean up after they have done maintenance, Do they disturb animals, destroy crops driving in the wrong places. or a myriad of other things that get his back up. It may not just be a question of money why he has padlocked the gate?
3. This action should get your mobile companies to listen to what he has to say. If he didn't take this action they are likely to ignore him.
4. Don't blame the farmer - blame the mobile companies for not keeping him satisfied.
