I am currently seeking a room in a house share in Lodon and haven't a clue where to begin. I am on quite a tight budget and would like somewhere that is very quick into work (Blackfriars/Waterloo(East) and that is not a horrible area...please any ideas????

Hi sssg

Well I may be looking for a new housemate around mid February if that's any good. Its in Hither Green - direct trains to Waterloo East take about 17mins, its a nice area, near Lewisham and Blackheath (which has loads of nice pubs and restaurants). I work near Charing Cross and its very handy. As I can't put my email address on here go to www.moveflat.co.uk and search for rooms in Hither Green - I've got an ad on there. Its a terraced house, big double room (furnished, although there is room for you to bring some stuff), nice garden, 5 minutes walk from the station. Oh yeah, and there is a cat, myself and one other girl who you would share with.

Can't guarrantee at the moment whether it will be available, as person who is moving out may come back (South African and visa issues!) but if she doesn't then we'll definitely be looking for someone. Contact me through Moveflat if you're interested.

Forgot to say - the rent is 425 a month, which probably seems quite a lot but includes council tax, house insurance and broadband. Other bills are on top.
I thik south east london/kent borders are the way to go. There are some crap places but also plenty of nice ones. If you want a few ideas let us know.

Good bits.... Bromely, Sidcup, Bexely, Chistlehurst.

not so Good... lewisham, bexelyheath, Plumsted.

My personal mantra is anywhere between the thames and the M2 is a bit naff, anything the other side of the M2 is pretty good.

All the places mentioned are on the Charing Cross line calling at Waterloo East and some going direct to Blackfriars.
