Fridge Capacity

I'm looking for a new free standing under counter fridge. The one I'm replacing is a discontinued Hotpoint with a capacity of 149 litres.

As I'm looking I notice dimensions are fairly standard...but capacity isn't. The range is 100 to about 130lt. Nothing with similar capacity. How much of a difference is 20 litres?

Also...so many unfamiliar brands. Cookology? Sia? Logik?

Do you want a larder fridge or one with an ice box?

Question Author

Definitely no ice box. In fact I'm surprised at how many have them.

20 litres is significant.

This has 146 litre capacity

Logik is a good brand but I don't think there is much that goes wrong with fridges these days

As well as capacity I'd check the energy rating and guarantee

I am dreading my 25 year old Bosch dying, there is nothing similar on the market and it is silent.

@12:15...did you mean to post a link?

I was just looking at a Bosch...it had a 10year warranty. Many have only 2 years.

Thing is, I'm not sure how much I can spend...daughter said she'd buy it for me for Christmas.

The equivalent of 4 x 5litre bottles quite a large difference

Question Author

I was wrong...it was a Beko that has a 10 year warranty ...Bosch was just 2.

Question Author

When described that way, CatC...that's huge.

Question Author

Thanks for the links Barry...I'll have a look at them.

Question Author

Haha...the hotpoint link is for the one I've got. Discontinued unfortunately 😕

I foulishly bought a replacement fridge based on dimensions paying little attention to the capacity. It's missing the depth of my previous one and feels like each shelf is half the size it should be. I'm having to stack things on top of each other and play Jenga!

You haven't mentioned where you intend buying, so can I recommend Euronics - thats an umbrella for independent shops, but the buying/pricing power of a big company.

Question Author

Maydup... When I first was looking, I thought 100 litres would be enough. Well, it sounded like a lot, until I checked the capacity of my current one.

Tuvok...I checked Euronics and they had very little choice.

I'll check it out Barry...thanks

That supplier only does local...30 mile radius...deliveries. I found another in Cleethorpes earlier...not useful for me 😂

It does say, "Where a customer resides outside of this postcode radius we recommend contacting the store on 01480 456311 or [email protected] to discuss the delivery options."

Might be worth a 'phone call or an e-mail to see what they say.
