There is a really handy pocket sized book you can buy for 3.95 from Tesco which tells you all about your rights. I have also seen the same book in Staples if that helps at all.

There are a few in the series all offering up to date legal advice.

One certainty:- If you're not married you have the right to do whatever you please.
And if you are married you have the right to do whatever you please surely geo0939. That's why there are so many divorces!
My previous posting should be taken with a large pinch of salt. I'll be 40 years married in September and honestly wouldn't change a day of it.
I'm coming up to 37 years in April, so see what you mean, all in good fun!

When Ivana Trump was asked this very question,

she replied, about 50 million, dollink.

Hi, there are quite a few differences, I don't know all of them, that book sounds a bargain. However, I know that certain pensions or things you are owed if you die don't always go to your partner, unless you are married, some let you name a person. Also if you have children, you do not have parental responsibility unless you as a father are married to the mother and therefore cannot legally consent to school trips, medical treatment etc. Unless your child was born after April 2003 and you were present at the birth registration, in which case you do have parental responsibility. Anyone before this (like us) have to write to apply for parental responsibility even if you were present at the birth registration etc. Oh and you don't need to take your ring off and leave it by the kitchen sink to wash up.
