Good Morning Friday Birds.
Have woken up to thick fog/ mist, and when I say thick I mean I can barely see the houses opposite. Haven't seen it like this for years. Drove home yesterday from the in-laws after spending Xmas Day & most of Boxing Day with them. Was lovely, but it's always nice to get back to your own home isn't it. When the TV was on we saw endless TV ads showing Xmas Day supper with the table laid with turkey sandwiches, cheeses, crackers, little quiches etc etc........ and we all said with the best will in the world who onnearly managed to eat any of that after having had a full Xmas dinner!?? Did anyone here manage a Xmas Day supper(or whatever u call it)??

Various little nibble of nuts/crisps were out but dinner wasn't till about 5pm, and then same here - we had a break, and then pudding was about 7.30 I think. Much later(about 9.30 ish) some mince pies came out but that was about it lol.
Morning Smow . I think we have sent the fog to you.It sounds like what we had yesterday,so I stayed in all day. Much better today so will brave the shops for milk and bread.
Didn't have a pudding as such, just a piece of Xmas cake later on. Cannot manage big meals as I get older. As a personal choice I much prefer a cold dessert, like ice cream or sorbet, after a big meal.
Glad to hear you got back alright and are not suffering any after effects of the drive.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Very foggy again here today, so apart from older son taking the dog for a walk, we are staying put today. Hopefully it will improve as OS is back at work tomorrow, with a 2hr ish drive up the motorway. As a parent do you ever stop worrying about motorway driving. He is a good driver, its just all the other morons on the road.
Hope you all have a happy day everyone
Goodmorning all.
No Chritmas supper here, just a late Lunch - chicken curry to try to drive away the heavy cold I picked up on the bus just before Christmas. There's always one or two selfish souls coughing and sneezing unrestrainedly on the buses come November/ December.
No mist at all here, visibility extensive although ironically the meter in the Solent (Bramble Bank) is registering range zero at present, so must be broken.
Our food was spread out across the day with dinner being quite late...about 9pm. We'd had my daughter's homemade ravioli at about 3pm, and that's when we had pudding. A choice of cheesecake or lemon tart. None of us like traditional fruity puddings/cake.
I too have had a heavy cold...it was brewing as a scratchy throat and laryngitis for several days. Then the never ending sneezing started on Christmas day. Much improved yesterday thankfully.
We are driving back down to Plymouth sometime later this afternoon. I hope Toby comes out of hiding. He did several times for the cat sitter...finally after 3 years of her looking after him!
