Good Morning Friday Birds!
Well I got the day right this time! ( yesterday I accidentally typed it was Friday when it was Thursday lol). Very cold lastnight indeed - minus 4 I think here. The light snow from the night before is still here but frozen now so pavements are very dodgy looking. Like 99% of places the pavements are never cleared, or at least nobody every clears the pavement in front of their own house, so people seeme to be walking in the road here to get to the main road at the top which is clearer. (We are a long side road off the main road)
If I feel ok later on I am going to brave Sainsburys. One of my New Year's resolutions was to be more selective with my time ie a bit of time management. Do what I used to do which was make myself sit down & plan rhe nxt weeks evening meals, do a proper list & do one main shop a week, rather than what I've ended up doing for the last few months which is only doing a couple of days at a time etc, for whatever reason, which ultimately leads to me going to the shops far far more often than I need to.Illogical seeing as I hate grocery shopping lol.
Nothing obvious planned for this weekend - what about you lot? X

Only me so top ups are normally only a couple of bags at most. I don't plan a week's meals exactly but have a list of things I can do a lot with. Plus I batch cook so a curry for example would be dinner today and three in the freezer.
Got the opticians this morning, may need new glasses, hope not, rather keep the money for something more fun.
Morning Rowan : ). Yes I like batch cooking - mainly in my slow cooker. If I ever do something like chilli/spag bol/curry then I'll always do at least double so I can freeze half or more. Very satisfying lol. As for the opticians, well I save a fortune now after my friend told me about Tiger Specs. I go and get my eyes tested as normal at Specsavers, then when they give me my receipt which also has my eye test results on (the spec for each eye/lens) then I simply take that home, go on their website & choose some new glasses! They're nearly always less than £10 a pair,& are brilliant! In fact I've always got several pair at home incase I can't find a pair lol. Now even MrSmow& both my In-laws use them.
Good morning, we have not seen any snow at all which is amazing seeing on TV what Exeter and Newton Abbott are like. Quite a bit of rain though.
Sorting out meals for the week is what I do, but I shop twice otherwise I find the fruit and veg aren't as fresh as I like.
Back to the chiropractor later, I am so much better after 1 treatment I am hoping I won't need as many as orignally predicted. Not exactly cheap. Having not been able to move without severe pain I walked down to the harbour yesterday, so pleased we walked down to Indian restaurant last night.
Hope your back has eased, any news on the appointment front.
Morning ubasses - yes I don't get my fruit and veg when I do a big shop, not salad anyway - we have an amazing little Turkish supermarket just up the road which does incredible fruit n veg & I just pop in there every couple of days when I am passing to grab what I need. Like you say it doesn't last for long when you try and get it all in the big shop.
Oh, and yes ubasses - after threatening my doctors surgery with me going to PALS as I wasn't getting anywhere with them on my wait for Pain Management clinic/spinal injections, I miraculously had a telephone call the very next day from the hospital who I have been waiting over 18months for an appointment, who suddenly have managed to find me an appointment in 11 days time!!
Good Morning Smow and everyone.
Apart from a couple of times I haven't been 'Grocery shopping' since the pandemic... hated it before that fluff about, but since Tesco monthly delivery... (I'm never going back I tell you, I'm never going back.) .. which is due on Monday first shop since before Christmas, so as you can imagine the order has changed somewhat. Still a few odds and ends to add no doubt.
I'm almost at full recovery after a week of doing nowt and staying at home. Hope everyone else is feeling at least a little better.
No plans for today, nor the weekend but probably get some beer in for the FA cup tie on Sunday Arsenal v Man United.
Weather-wise still slowly melting, taken about ten minutes ago when I started to read this thread:

Have a lovely day folks what ever she may bring you.
Arksided - still looks lovely and wintry!
Ubasses - I agree, but didn't know what else to do. As for the greengrocers, well they do other things but their veg/fruit/salad is just incredible - and I love it because you can literally buy just one of anything - a single potato, or tomato etc.... perfect if your doing recipes that need just a single item.
Morning all. Still frosty here and treacherous underfoot. We have a Sainsbury delivery later, which makes me plan meals ahead but are dependent on them for the freshness of veg etc. It can be a bit variable but local shops are about 20 minutes away by car and on top of that my mobility isn't great so shopping options are limited. I cant remember what we decided for today either so maybe surpriseapot again.
Smow, I am glad they (medics) are finally giving you an appointment, none too soon imo. Sometimes it pays to shout a bit
have a lovely weekend everyone
