I can't ever remember my children bringing home, or me being sent a letter like this.

It puzzles me why so many people (including people on this site) are happy to ignore the threat to our children.

Jesus, that's terrifying.

Could it be rising illegal immigrant numbers to blame? I'm sure the lefties will be frothing at the mouth at the mere suggestion but until the woke actually wake up this problem, along with so many others, will proliferate.

As soon as I set eyes on this letter, I can remember such letters coming from schools for my two, and as far back as the 50/ 60s for me. The only thing I would add is the risk is a lot higher. My two by the way are in their 40s.

Oh, by the way, I doubt anyone is ignoring the threat, obviously not the school. It a reminder, reminders help people to focus.

Stranger danger has always been there - plenty of child abductions/murders back in the day. You shouldn't ignore the threat but at the same time you can't totally protect children.

//The only thing I would add is the risk is a lot higher.//

Can I see your evidence of this?

No evidence, Lets just say I focus on people entering the UK disapearing into thin air, the latter can increase all kinds of risks. Obviously the school also felt the need to point out one of those risks.

Yes, I saw similar letters decades ago and well remember the public service broadcasts Charlie Says adverts warning of stranger danger in the 70s.

I don't think my parents got letters. But I certainly remember being told to be careful around strangers. I also clearly remember a man in a car calling my friend and I over. We went back to our safe spot by the back door.

This was probably around 1955...in a sleepy village...in the US.

You may not want to face it but this is happening up and down the country

I dont think anyone is ignoring or unable to face up to the need for security of schools. How you come to the conclusion in you op that people here on AB are happy to ignore any threat to children puzzles me? would you care to explain. I've already stated that maybe the risk is higher, plus the school is obviously not happy or ignoring it, plus letters of this kind have always been sent out if the schools feel the risk has increased for whatever reason.

There are too many children wearing clothes with their name on their clothes. Too easy for someone to call them
