Why does the Record Series control on certain shows drop out every now and again? Pointless, Bargain Hunt and others.

Very annoying when the first you know of it is when you try to watch the recording.

I wondered this in the past, I came to the conclusion that it drops when a different series is shown. Without making a note of both series and episode I am not sure how to overcome this. It is annoying.
