I have high excesses on all my policies to keep the premiums down. I wouldn't claim if the value of the goods lost, stolen, damaged was low as I believe any claim increases future premiums.

What's your attitude to insurance?

I have the house insured but not the contents, and have never made a claim.

Two claims in twenty plus years, the last for my almost brand new shed that the storm gods took as tribute.

No point in having insurance and not using it when the need arises.

I'd claim for the shed. I last claimed in 2000 after my car was written off. Prior to that I claimed when a flood wrecked my downstairs.

Ooerr. 😆

Never made a house claim, never made a car claim, had 2 claims for motorcycles. I only tend to claim if it's a write off or near to it. I did bin my bike on a track day a couple of times and rebuilt it myself.

My wife suffered a horrific leg fracture while waterskiing in central Portugal. Spent 3 weeks in Coimbra hospital before being flown back to our local hospital where a bed was awaiting her.  Thank goodness for insurance.

Oh yes, wouldn't travel without proper insurance.

I've rebuilt a couple of motorbikes, back in the day when a Haynes manual and a handful of tools was all you needed.
