I work in a small office and recently a girl left and she gave my boss a bag of goodies (2 bottles wine, box of chocs and a box of bics) to share between me and the boss and another person here. I only just saw the bag in my boss's room (he is not in today and I had to find something in his room) - I am sure he would share everything - I think he may not have read the tag that says it's to us all. What do I do? Anything? Just keep drooling? If I hadn't seen the tag I would not be thinking about it! Mad! Any suggestions please ?

You could drop a subtle hint like "Nice of ---- to give us all a reason to remember her, and drink her health wasn't it?" which should either make him think about the recipients of the gift, or jog his memory if he's forgotten.

If he is brass-necked enough to drink and scoff the lot, rise above it - it's hardly worth getting into a state over it.

Next time he is in say something like "I really fancy one of those biscuits that xxxx bought for us"

Then see what he says

A slight variation to the above post! All innocent like, you could ask him "Do you know where those goodies <name of girl> gave us, have got to? I'm starving, I really fancy a biscuit!"

going to sound abit callous here, big deal its hardly something to drool over, if your that wound up over it just ask him.

How long has he had the goodies, he might of forgot etc, as if he wanted them for himself he would'nt have them on show, sorry if you think i'm sounding of but its hardly something to go mad over.

I used to work for a total cheapskate boss, and at Christmas time we'd receive many gift baskets addressed to all of us (only two of us other than the boss), but he never shared; in fact, he'd remove the gift card and then re-gift the basket to a client.

So, in your case, since he is "the boss," I'd say if he was going to share, he'd do it on his own. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Next time you're in in his room, point to the bag and say 'are you going to share those out or what you tight git?'

Next time he is out, go in his room and share them out between the rest of you - don't say anything, he will probably be too embarrased to say anything either.
