hobbies

hi...i am a 16 yr old guy that lives in portsmouth. At the weekends i get really bored. Has anyone got any suggestions for hobbies (or anything) that i could take up?? thanks

I would suggest watching pompey playing football but that will probably be more boring than watching grass grow, are you into sports ? fishing season starts next week or Sailing must be a lot of sailing clubs down there or what about a part time job, if you enjoy sport you could always help out with say an under 12s footie team as well, What are you interested in?

This is a silly question really! At 16 years of age there is so much out there for you to do! Get out there and find out what life is all about, before it is too late-we live in a world that may not exist as we know it much longer!!

Well, some ideas...you could join a gym, join some sports teams (through your school/college/a leisure centre), get a part-time job (good way to keep you busy while making money and meeting new people). Leisure centres also hold lots of different classes...try the Mountbatten Centre or whichever is your nearest to you.

When I was 16 I spent most of my time with a video or stills camera! The films that I made with my friends are now my most treasured possessions. You don't realise it now, but filming your mates doing what you do (hanging out/eating/walking round town/skateboarding etc-sorry to generalise) will be AMAZING to look back on in the future. It is also a really good document of popular culture! Imagine showing it to your kids 30 years from now, when the town has totally changed! It's like Back to the Future!!

It is also really good fun, and you can be very creative. Either use a little disposable camera, or if you can get one, a camcorder. You could also put your films on the web if you use a digital camcorder etc.

Get yourself a dog. You can join a training class and take it to shows or just train/exercise it yourself. You will meet loads of new friends at dog shows and your life will never be the same. Clubs are always more than happy to welcome new members, especially if they have nothing better to do than help them run their shows/clubs (says she up at 5.30 tomorrow to drive 150 miles to a committee meeting!).
