Can someone enlighten me as to which county Walsall belongs to? I think it is West Midlands, but not certain.

Staffordshire until 1974, then West Midlands until 1986 when it become a unitary authority on the dissolution of West Midlands County Council, though for "historic" reasons it's still considered as part of the West Midlands rather than Staffs.
