I sent a parcel to South Africa using a company called KiwiGlobal shipping,this was before christmas,the promise was that the parcel would be there before christmas,nothing of note in the parcel,just a model kit,a second camera and second hand mobile phones.Cheap really,the parcel cost was horrendous,but,its christmas,apparently customs in SA demanded almost �70.00 to clear it,KiwiGlobal shipping seemed to lose interest and did'nt answer most of my calls leaving me and the parcel recepient to sort it out.They still today ignore my e-mails.What can I do?It cost a lot in calls here and there. Oh they also promised free beer etc. Ha ha

Have the customs dues been paid? The parcel won't be released until they are and it's normally the recipient's responsibility to do so.
